Library
The library is a major feature of the school providing access to a wide range of
books, journals, newspapers, slides and electronic resources supporting specific
courses. The reserves section is of particular interest to students as it contains
key books and selected reading material for course units.
The library is open for varied hours to include early mornings, late evenings and weekends. LSBC has organized links with a number of highly specialized libraries that students have access to, including City Business Library and the British Library.
Computer Services
Students have access to a large volume of workstations linked to the internet and
electronic mail services. The workstations can be used for a number of local applications
and discipline related activities. For those requiring a more substantial computing
resource there are a number of high performance computer systems available. Access
to computers can be gained throughout the working day, evenings and weekends.
Counseling and Advice
If advice is needed on any practical problems such as welfare, benefits, grants,
home office matters, or worries and emotional difficulties you will be able to talk
to one of our counselors on campus. General queries can usually be dealt with immediately
but for more specific problems appointments may be necessary, or referrals are given
to specialist organizations.
Accommodation Service
For students coming from abroad or from other parts of the UK we can arrange accommodation
locally, but we will need to be informed a month before your expected arrival. Accommodation
will be in the form of shared flats or houses; this includes single bedrooms and
in some cases the possibility of shared double rooms. All accommodation must be
paid for prior to entry, the majority of places demand a minimum of one month rent
as deposit and another months rent in advance. The deposit is taken to cover the
cost of any damage incurred by tenants and is refundable when you leave the property.
At LSBC, you will find excellent classrooms, Library, computer lab and a cafeteria. As a student, you will definitely enjoy our friendly and congenial atmosphere with a group of highly qualified lecturers and staffs.
Student Welfare Unit
Student welfare unit can be generally accessed through admin office of the college.
Contact can be either formal (by appointment) or informal. Staff will assist in
making appointment with the immediate available officer.
The Student Work Placement
At LSBC, we have working arrangements with many employers in and around London,
who wish to give our students apprenticeship opportunities. The placements are available
in a range of fields such as business, media, law, hospitality and marketing. These
apprenticeships are three months to a year part-time positioning and are provided
to the most deserving of the students. Normally students under Work Placement Schemes
work us volunteers, but a small apprenticeship grant may be paid to cover the travel
and other expenses. In most cases, with the course of time, the employers tend to
pay the apprentice for the work they are doing. Student Welfare Unit advertises
a range of available opportunities throughout the year.
Student Health On arrival to the college it is duty of each student to register
to the nearest available GP and assistance is provided from the welfare office.
Student with disabilities needs -The College has a Disability Welfare Adviser who is based at Student Welfare Services. They can provide help and advice to students tailored to their individual needs.
Airport Pick Up Service
For overseas students their journey to London to study is their first time away
from home and, for most, represents a major change of lifestyle. It is vitally important
therefore that the College provides expert help and guidance so that students may
find a safe away from home.
Even before our overseas students board their flights to England our Student Services Manager and team will be working hard on their behalf to ensure that all goes well on their arrival at Heathrow Airport and that a college representative is waiting to take them to their accommodation.
Once they commence their studies, members of the College welfare team will be available to help new students overcome any difficulties they may face in the first few weeks.
However, you must follow the following procedure to get air port pick service.

You must fill in the airport pick up service form.

Now make a payment of £80 for airport pick up service.

Please send the duly filled in form along with the payment.
