Course Structure
The course modules are:
Part 1
1. Marketing Communications for Tourism and Hospitality
2. International Tourism & Hospitality Business Environment
3. Corporate Business Strategy and Finance
Part II
4. Management Information Systems
5. Strategic Human Resource Management
6. Project: Operations Management in the Business Environment
Methods of Assessment
Each of modules 1 to 5 is assessed by a three hour written examination. However Module 6 is assessed by the Research envisaged and methodology adopted in the project.
Teaching Methods
The programme is taught by a dedicated team of staff drawn largely from full-time members of the school but supplemented where necessary by external lecturers and speakers and professionals from industry. There is a mixture of lecture and seminar work in the course with a particular emphasis on group work. This allows experiences to be shared and develops cross-cultural awareness and opportunities to develop links and networks in the long run.
Progression & Career Options
On passing the OTHM Higher Diploma Members will be eligible to be considered for various degrees courses in recognized colleges and universities in the UK and around the world.
